DAN GABRIELLO, baritone
Dan Gabriello studied at The Royal College of Music in London and privately under noted Italian baritone Paolo Silveri. In 1989 Gabriello studied in the young artist studio at the Teatro alla Scala, later making his European recital debut in 1990 co-starring with tenor Alberto Cupido. He was a finalist and a winner in several international vocal competitions.
His career began singing supporting roles and as understudy for many leading baritones.
He debuted the role of Scarpia in the year 2000, stepping into a production of Puccini's Tosca at the Teatro Comunale di Caltanisetta, and received excellent reviews from the local Italian press. Since he has performed numerous principal roles in the popular Italian opera repertoire - and in November 2015 Mr. Gabriello starred in a serie of 6 gala concerts in China performing in major concert halls in many of China's major cities beside Beijing. The program consisted of popular Italian baritone scenes & arias from operas like Un Ballo in Maschera, Don Carlos, Tosca, Andrea Chénier, Otello and popular songs from Italy and Naples. Around 1500 - 2500 spectators atttended each concert to hear Mr. Gabriello sing accompanied by Swedish pianist Ha Young-Sul. All concerts were triumphly received by the audience with long standing ovations.
In addition to his career as a dramatic baritone, Mr. Gabriello is an excecutive with Dietsch International Assoicates. He also produces concerts, gala events, and stage productions. He has been instrumental in the development of the the film-opera concept, and is at work developing his first film project, Giordano's Andrea Chenier. His work in this medium has impressed Placido Domingo, who in a letter of intend has confirmed his interest in conducting the sound track of this upcoming epic 3D IMAX motion picture adaption of Andrea Chénier. This feature film will be produced by Azazello Production, Sony and Dietsch International Associates.
